well, tonight was quite the adventure. justin and i just got back from buford exploring an abandoned insane asylum. yes, its as scary as it sounds.

first off, i'd like to say tat gwinnett cops are the shit. just before going inside the place a cop pulled up and it seemed like we were gonna get busted for trespassing. much to our suprise, he was basically just curious as to why we were there and how we had heard about it. we talked for a few minutes with him about the history of the asylum and he told us some interesting things. apparently the police force used to preform S.W.A.T. team drills inside of it, which i thought was pretty neat. the police officer pretty much gave us the O.K. to go inside, so we proceeded.

getting into the place seemed to be quite the challenge at first. it is boarded up solid as a rock. we walked around it and found 2 places in the back where the boards were broken through. one lead to a basement-type room which was basically nothing but dirt and piping. nevertheless we still decided to go inside and see what was in it. we didn't find much, except on the wall on the far end of the room were what seemed to be little childrens hand prints and the name "joey" in red paint... atleast i hope it was red paint. unfortunately, i didn't get a picture of that because i'm stupid and forgot to take the camera at that point.

after that we went to te second place where we thought we could get in. it was a window leading to one of the patients rooms. we had to grab a cinderblock from inside the basement area to give us a boost inside. it was a little bit of work but we managed to get in.

now, what happened inside can only be described as scary. at first it didn't seem so bad, but i had this eerie feeling that i couldn't shake off since i got in there. we looked around for a minute and then justin heard something which he described to sound like footsteps down the hall. i didn't hear it at the time so i kind of shook it off as nothing. we went across the hallway into another patients room. not much was found except a little plastic container which had a label that read "soup" on it. there were also various things such as toilet paper and a bucket laying all around te floor. we took some pictures and decided to check out some more. all of the other rooms we searched didn't have much in them, but then again we didn't search through much before i myself started to hear what justin was talking about at first. at first it was a faint kind of bumping sound that i tried not to think much of. then i heard a loud BANG and what sounded like small footsteps with the swishing of what sounded like some sort of gown or long pants down the far end of the hallway. needless to say, we got the hell out of there after that.

we don't have many pictures of it since we didn't stay for too long, but we do have these 5...

haunted around atlanta [29 May 2003|12:27pm]

all places around atlanta that i want to go explore!

Alpharetta - Hopewell School - Apparently it was shut down in the 70's after 7 elementary school children were killed by a poisoning. A strange presence is all throughout the old school which has been abandoned ever since then.

Alpharetta - the old food giant - A lady's body was found by the alpharetta police department in the woods behind the old food giant store, The lady seems to be angry about something cause her spirit lurks the area! There has been several times and reports of screaming coming from the wooded 2 acre lot. The Alpharetta police look but never seem to find any evidence of fowl play in the woods, they stay puzzled wondering and waiting for the next...The events have happened at 12:00am on random nights. The Alpharetta police say she only strikes at midnight!

Buford - Haunted Antebellum Asylum - RT 23 (Buford hwy) - It is a really hard place to find, but now construction has been booming in that area (new mall of GA), area kids have found the place. They say it is haunted and that some homeless, transient kids live there part-time. Update: If this is the same place off hwy 23 in Buford Georgia, just behind the public library, then it is indeed boarded up all around. With no access.

Cherokee County - Canton - Hell Church - is a place located in the old part of Canton. There is a long narrow road going back into the woods that is very difficult to get down. You then come upon a church, out in the middle of no where, that is very small (one room ) and white. Located directly across the road is a cemetery with graves dating back to the 18th century. Although there have been accounts of graves freshly dug. The story goes that back in the 80's a boy was found mutilated. Most say that it was a cult killing. But the church was shut down and the newspaper clipping of this horrible event still exists. The church has been re-opened but there are still accounts of hearing faint piano music coming from inside the church late at night.

Duluth - Abandoned Theatre - Loud knocking of outside backdoors. Then suddenly stops for a few seconds and then begins knocking.

Marietta - Devil's Turnaround - Large objects will be thrown if set on ground, orbs, lightning, mist, very cold winds, shrieking, kids laughing, chanting, yelling, screaming all around a bad place to go. People have come back and had large bruises and fang marks on legs, upper arms, wrists and necks. Crucifixes, prayer, holy water only make whatever is there mad. If you go, wear no crosses or anything Christian like. Weekends are the worst time.

Marietta - Kennesaw House - Used as a hospital during the Civil War, now a museum, people have seen ghosts of soldiers here. An entire hospital "scene" completes with soldiers in their hospital beds and 2 people witnessed doctors working with them at the same time in the basement area or lower floor. Employees have also heard several unexplained noises.

Marietta - The Witch's Graveyard An 1800's graveyard - Where a supposed witch is buried. Some phenomenon like knocking coming from underground and sounds like banshees crying, drums playing from nowhere. Fog around the cemetery and no fog anywhere else, a 15 degree temperature drop from being outside and then stepping inside the gates.

Palmetto - The Palmetto House - In the mid 1800's, this house was built by a wealthy man who inherited his fathers shipping fortune after he died. Over the years up until the 1910's, the family lived very happily in this house, enjoying parties in the music room, dinners in the beautiful dinning room, and long late night talks about ghosts, witches, and other paranormal things in the parlor (which is where the most paranormal events happen the most). On one particular night, the family had all went to bed except for the master, and a few of his drinking buddies. Around the hours of 12:30am to 3:48am they sat and talked about ghosts and witches, and vampires. As soon as the subject on witches started, all the gas lit lights went out. The master got up and went to the lights over the fireplace, (where a BEAUTIFUL glass and gold embroidered mirror was) to light them back up, he saw the face of an elder woman he blinked and the face vanished, he panicky asked his friends if they saw the face, they all mysteriously were dead, hair white, along with the skin. When the local police arrived, they arrested the man for the murder of them men. When he asked them how could he have killed them, the head sergeant told him, the men had been dead for 2 hours!! When the master arrived at the station, he noted the clock was currently stating 6:00am on the dot. THe next day he was hung for the murder of not only the two men, but his daughter, son, and wife. Around 1958 another family purchased the house, and renovated it back to its former glory. On the nights of October 15th-23rd, strange things would happen in the house such as furniture moving, things breaking, things of that nature. But when the family moved in the first time, they noted that the mirror over the fireplace mantel was the only thing that looked brand new. Around the late 1960's the owner of the house and his daughter were the only surviving people of the family. His son was killed in a car wreck, and his wife's death was noted as "natural causes". His daughter killed herself in the upstairs bathroom in 1968. He shortly killed himself after that. Strange things such as lights on in the house (when there are no power to the house), things moving, strange growling noises, odd foot like sounds stomping upstairs (the stairs have fallen down so now you can't reach the upstairs), and an evil frightening cackle by an old woman is heard on the nights of Oct 15th-20th. The house now lay in ruin and is decaying fast. You can reach this house from I-85 north or south, take I-85 north or south till you reach the Union City exit, get off the exit heading west on Hwy 138, when you reach the red light under the rail road tracks, take a left onto Hwy 29. Follow that till you see a chevron gas station. The old house is directly behind the gas station. WARNING: ENTER HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK, THE PALMETTO POLICE PATROL THIS LOCATION QUITE FRENQUENTLY
